December 17, 2020 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.59 Released
This version fixes a few more bugs discovered in latest versions (see what's new). If you have problems with version 2.8.55, please upgrade. Also, we ask everybody to send us bug reports, that really helps us make the software better.

November 26, 2020 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.55 Fixes Bugs
New release of TightVNC fixes problems of the previously released version 2.8.53. Everyone who installed 2.8.53 is strongly advised to upgrade to this version. It has the same exciting new features of 2.8.53 but does not have its disappointing bugs. The list of fixes is available here.

April 19, 2020 – Remote Core SDK 2020.1.1 for iOS, iPadOS and macOS Released
New version includes a bunch of improvements and fixes, including improvement of zoom and scrolling, and ability to control large displays from older devices. Remote Core SDK allows developers to integrate TightVNC Viewer components in their own software. See more information here.
April 19, 2020 – Remote Ripple 3.0.9 for iOS and iPadOS Released
We've improved zoom and scrolling of the remote desktop, making these operations more intuitive and artifacts-free. Also, now Remote Ripple supports iOS Dark Mode correctly. Get it in the App Store!
October 23, 2019 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.27 Released
This version includes another bunch of bugfixes and minor improvements. Still no new features, as all major changes go to the development branch (upcoming version 3.0). Anyway, it's recommended to upgrade to this new release. Download it here, and don't forget to see what's new).
July 4, 2019 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.23 Released
This version adds performance improvements and a number of fixes. It does not introduce major features, because most of our work goes to another branch of development, to our new cross-platform codebase (upcoming version 3.0). In the meantime, we recommended to update TightVNC to version 2.8.23. Please download the software here (and read what's changed).
March 7, 2018 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.11 Released
New version improves performance on the server side and fixes a number of problems in both server and viewer. Download new version here.
April 6, 2017 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.8 Released
The newest TightVNC fixes just a few problems, but the bugfixes include important ones. Version 2.8.8 is a recommended update for all TightVNC users. Make sure to download new TightVNC packages. Also, here you can see what's changed in every version of TightVNC.

July 11, 2016 – TightVNC Java Viewer 2.8.2 Released
New release of TightVNC Java Viewer addresses two major areas: compatibility and ease of integration. Other enhancements include support for key-based authentication for SSH connections, faster rendering on Apple's Retina displays, improved full-screen mode and numerous fixes improving the overall stability of the application.

March 25, 2015 – Remote Core SDK: .NET Viewer
We are glad to introduce our newest addition to the TightVNC product family: Remote Core SDK. It's a Software Development Kit, a set of libraries that implements TightVNC connectivity, and hides all the complexity of TightVNC protocol behind a simple and convenient API.
The first component we are offering today is the .NET Viewer SDK. It allows you to easily add TightVNC Viewer functionality to your .NET-based software. If you are interested, please see information here.
October 2, 2014 – Remote Ripple 2.1 Released
Remote Ripple is our VNC-compatible remote desktop client for Android. Version 2.1 adds German and Spanish localizations, adds support for external mouse, improves user experience and overall stability of the application. Install Remote Ripple now!

July 24, 2013 – New version update 2.7.10 has arrived

June 7, 2013 – TightVNC is updated to version 2.7.7
New version 2.7.7 brings bug fixes for Windows 8 and restores compatibility with older versions (for example, TightVNC 1.3 for Linux). Find more about the version released (or read the complete announcement) and download it straight away!
May 29, 2013 – TightVNC 2.7.3 is out. Java Viewer 2.7.2 is also available
Grab the newly updated TightVNC version in Downloads. It contains bug fixes for Server and Java Viewer and improves compatibly with Mac and Windows systems. Performance boost comes as a nice bonus.
April 26, 2013 – New TightVNC version 2.7.1 is released

April 28, 2011 – New TightVNC Java Viewer is coming!
TightVNC Java Viewer version 2 is on the final stages of development and will be publicly released in the nearest weeks. It will be available both as free software (GNU GPL) and commercially. Commercial licensing will allow to link its components with proprietary programs. Please read more information here.
January 31, 2011 – Business-friendly license for TightVNC Server version 2
While TightVNC Server version 2 for Windows is available under the GNU GPL terms, that's not the only licensing option available. We can offer the source code under a business-friendly license if you would like to include it in your commercial software. So we have published a document which describes such commercial licensing in detail, with all terms and prices included. Read more information here.
January 26, 2011 – TightVNC installation script is freely available
TightVNC installation script has been publicly released and added to the downloads page. It's available under the terms of the GNU GPL license, just like TightVNC itself. Note that TightVNC v.2 installers have been built with NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System).
January 18, 2011 – Tight Decoder is available commercially
If you would like to support Tight encoding in your proprietary VNC-compatible viewer, there is an easy solution available. We offer commercial licenses for our genuine Tight Decoder (written in pure C, compatible with any C or C++ program). Go here to read more.

TightVNC 2.0.2 fixes a packaging issue with previous version and includes the fix for Windows DPI scaling feature (that fix was announced in 2.0.1 but was not actually included there). Also, this version adds another small fix for clipboard transfers. Download Now!
